Map Maker Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect example of classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Aroma Intensely aromatic with lifted passionfruit, fresh cut grass and citrus grapefruit on the nose.
Palate In the mouth exotic flavours such as guave, black currents and elderflower. It has a has creamy/limey texture with a lingering mineral finish. Bone dry, crisp and clean with excellent balance and texture.

2013 was a warm and dry summer from the start of spring through to harvest. The great weather at spring resulted in an abundance of perfectly set and full bunches. A small amount of leaf removal was carried out to get optimal sun exposure on the fruit and air movement through the canopy. This 2013 vintage gave us beautiful clean fruit with optimum physiological ripeness, classy crispness and great intensity of flavors.

Map Maker Sauvignon Blanc is grown in individual blocks on our Estate within the famous Rapaura Region of Marlborough. Each parcel comes from a unique site which is renowned for its terroir with old riverbed clayish soils and riverbank gravels. This land delivers the original vibrant flavours for which Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is so famous.

Each parcel of Sauvignon Blanc is harvested separately, providing us with an array of different flavours and structure. The first picks have the hallmark Marlborough herbaciousness and crisp acidity, these combine elegantly with the concentrated rich tropical fruit of the later picks.

Map Maker Sauvignon Blanc grapes were harvested at optimum physiological ripeness and fermented with an array of indigenous and cultured yeast to further enhance the flavours and structure of the grapes.

Each parcel was treated as an individual wine in the winery. After fermentation these individual wines were blended together, settled and integrated into tanks before bottling in late September 2013.
