This was easily the best wine at a tasting that included premium names costing as much as double the price. It shows fabulous balance between succulent, irresistible fruit and sophistication, precision and finesse. The aromas are concentrated and complex, showing blackcurrant and black cherry, seasoned by mint, green pepper and just a suggestion of eucalyptus. Although dry on the palate, it is also super-soft and pure, with real flavour concentration, vibrant acidity and such velvety tannin. The oak has mellowed and integrated since bottling, and comes across as a very delicate, soft, coconut cream character. This is fully ready to drink, but it still has so much youthful vigour that it tastes like it could comfortably last at least another 10-15 years (should it be given the chance).
