Colour Honey colours with soft pinkish tinge. Nose Aromatically gentle with summer flowers and citrus contrasts. Palate Peach and passionfruit up front, with a hint of barley sugar. A soft and developing finish.The fruit for this wine came off both the high attitude vineyards of the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough, and North Island Gisborne. The former provides lovely cool climate intensity, the latter bringing rounded and ripe flavours, together achieved a lovely aromatic Pinot Grigio. Advanced technical vineyard management practice beyond the usual, and a handson wine making approach is the signature for this range. This wine was fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to help with the aromatics and the fullness of the palate. The Waihopai label has produced a very drinkable and lovely Pinot Grigio.
