The vineyards for The Frenchhouse Merlot are located in the Vin de Pays d’Oc region of Southern France. The 10-year-old vines are situated atop terraces along the Aude Valley and the Pyrénéés foothills. A cooler climate, mild temperatures and low rainfall in the area prevent the grapes from maturing too quickly. The vineyards produce relatively low yields ensuring the high quality of each grape cluster.
The grapes for The Frenchhouse Merlot undergo a relatively long maceration period followed by aging in oak barrels for six months.
Food Match: The Frenchhouse Merlot is a food-friendly wine that pairs well with a variety of foods, from spicy Thai food to traditional pasta with tomato-based sauces.
