VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
The initial cool growing season gave way in late January to searing heat across Southern Australia. The return to normal conditions in February saw the vines relax and the slow, natural ripening patterns resume.
This, our second Pinot Grigio is a blend of fruit from the cool Padthaway region in the heart of the Limestone Coast and carefully selected long term growers in the Riverland of South Australia. This cross section of vineyards, the varying soils and microclimates produces a wine with greater depth and style.
Each parcel of fruit was harvested and fermented separately with a carefully chosen yeast strain to enhance the fruit flavours in the wine. Following fermentation to near dryness, the wine was stabilised, blended and clarified before bottling at the Angove Family Winery.
Colour: Pale medium straw with lively green hues.
Aroma and Palate Aromas of new season pears and apples leap from the glass followed by a hint of white peach that follows on the palate.
Food Match This crisp dry style dances delicately in the mouth and is the perfect accompaniment to Grilled Pork loin or Indian chicken curry.
Residual Sugar: 2.4 gms/l

'Reverberating with the zest of youth, this shows the advantage of drinking these whites while they are fresh and young. It's bright, clean and floral, has good viscosity and tangy, vibrant acidity that finishes long and mild.'
